If the dev update does lead to the game getting rollback in the near future, it'll be very interesting to see if the overhaul makes its way to the console versions as well or stays exclusive to Steam like Accent Core currently is.Ĭentral Fiction getting its crack at rollback would also confirm ArcSys and their partners have made extensive progress in their attempts to go back over their older titles, which would open the doors for something similar in Cross Tag Battle, a potential Persona 4 Arena re-release or perhaps even Guilty Gear Xrd at some point.
The arcade build of Central Fiction originally released in 2015, but it wouldn't receive a proper PC version until 2017 where the 2.0 patch would launch later that year. fArsc5oDX0- Majeed Bogard September 28, 2021Ĭentral Fiction's apparently new test build changelogs do look very similar in nature to Accent Core's from last year as well.Īlthough this doesn't outright confirm rollback is indeed on the way to BlazBlue for the first time, all of this information does point to something going on in a title that's been essentially dormant for years on Steam. Taking a look at other ArcSys titles like Guilty Gear Xrd and BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle shows that neither of those have any similar developer branches open either going back at least a year or two.īBCF got a new branch (closed beta) I hope it is what we think it is. This is certainly curious for a few reasons with the first being the fact that there's been no similar updates to the game in at least three years, and it's barely been touched at all the past year aside from changes to the Steam store tags used. I will recommend blazblue to everybody until we all have a pocket main susanoo.According to SteabDB, this "dev-test-debug" branch of Central Fiction was patched just a few days ago on September 27, 2021. All of this is coming from a 5 year and counting Mai player who's been on the grind of relearining the game from scratch since rollback dropped in December.ġ0/10 master craft fighting game right here. My personal main Mai is actually a real easy and good mixup character especially when you get things like 236 into grab mixups down or wacky crossups with j.C though yes I do recommend Mai because her inputs for specials and supers are relatively easy especially for beginner players and yes I know everyone's gonna say "You play her because of the booba" and you are also right about that to but her funny mixups make it worth it and also MAI'S 214D vibe check.
Hmm for easy characters if this is your first time getting into blazblue I always will recommend the staple boy of the series Ragna as he will in fact help you out with learning a bit of the game's overall functions and how things work. Some characters in overdrive are absolutely broken if hit into the right setup though ahem susanoo, terumi, hakumen, the 5 kokonoe players that are absolute gods at this game. Overdrive enhances your super's and special moves to do more damage or take a few extra hits. Overdrive as a mechanic can be activated at any point in both rounds as long as you do realize that it'll have to recharge after use. At it's core blazblue can be compared to other arc sys fighters but there's always a mechanic that sets them apart and here we have the overdrive mechanic aka you don't see people use it half of the time because they round start overdrive burst when you hit them even once like bro take the 2k damage combo so I don't hit you with a overdrive combo that does 4.5k later in the round. What can I say about blazblue that hasn't already been said "fast paced guilty gear" "for people who don't wanna play footsies" "Noel's armpits be making me sus online". Still doesn't mean you'll have a good connection if you don't use an ethernet cable though. Now with rollback added oh man the game runs buttery smooth online and feels incredible to play with everybody. I've been holding off on writing this review for a while as I was playing this years ago before the concept of rollback was even considered the cool hip thing with fighting games and yes the netcode at that time was hit or miss.
